I feel misled and their response was very condescending. They said there is nothing they can do, that they sympathize with my situation but hope I understand the policy and will consider them in the future. But they also said if I reached out to the guest experience department after the cruise with a doctor’s note, Norwegian is usually willing to work with people to give future credit when it’s a medical situation. This time they told me I could cancel and my friend could still go but since we didn’t have trip protection, I’d be out all the money as the cancellation fee ($1314, my half). That’s ridiculous I thought so I called again and this time was directed to group reservations since it was for a wedding.
But she’s healthy, she could go so I asked if they could split the reservation, they said no. I reached out to them as soon as I knew I couldn’t travel (about a month prior) and first they told me if I cancelled, it would cancel my friend’s reservation too. Norwegian’s customer service was incredibly frustrating. I was supposed to cruise on the Norwegian Encore with a friend for a wedding but had to miss the cruise for unforeseen medical reasons.
